Good to know

Morning light filters through historic windows as rooftops and distant bridges come into view, the city stretching quietly below. Cool March air lingers outside, while inside the apartment central heating keeps everything comfortably warm. As evening settles in, the skyline begins to glow, offering a peaceful backdrop for reading, conversation, or simply watching San Francisco shift from day to night. The home Occupying the entire second floor of one of Bernal Heights’ oldest Victorian homes, this 2-bedroom, 1-bath apartment blends history and comfort. Diamond-pitched ceilings, original artwork, and a mix of Mid-Century Modern, antique, and vintage furnishings reflect the home’s creative roots. Featured in San Francisco tour books and cared for by the same family for generations, the property carries a distinct sense of place. The living room looks out toward the city skyline and Bay Bridge, a view that feels especially striking on clear winter and early spring evenings. Portable fans are available, and central heating ensures a cozy atmosphere during San Francisco’s cooler months. Sleeping Arrangements The apartment sleeps 4 and features two thoughtfully arranged bedrooms. One bedroom includes a Queen bed and a uniquely shaped walk-in closet. The second bedroom offers a Full bed with nearby clothing storage. Bed linens, extra pillows and blankets, and essentials are provided to create a restful setting at the end of the day. Bathroom The bathroom includes a bathtub and bathroom essentials for a comfortable stay. Kitchen and Dining The kitchen offers everything you need to prepare meals at home, whether you are starting the day with coffee from the Keurig coffee machine or settling in for a relaxed dinner at the dining table. The dining area also serves as a comfortable spot for conversation or catching up on work. Wifi is available throughout the apartment, and a dedicated workspace is located in a common space. Outdoor Spaces Step outside to your private patio or balcony for fresh air and city skyline or garden views. The backyard - fully fenced - provides additional outdoor space, along with outdoor furniture for quiet moments outside between neighborhood explorations. A private entrance with a separate street or building entrance adds to the sense of independence during your stay. Entertainment and Extras Inside, you’ll find an HDTV with Roku, a BOSE Bluetooth sound system, books and reading material, and a yoga mat. Self check-in with a lockbox makes arrival simple, and free street parking is available. Neighborhood Located in Bernal Heights, you are within walking distance of local markets, cafes, restaurants, parks, and public transportation. The Mission District and Valencia Corridor are easily accessible, and nearby Bernal Hill offers one of the city’s most rewarding viewpoints - especially on clear days.

Neighborhood

THE NEIGHBORHOOD Outdoor enthusiasts, indoor bookworms, and foodies rejoice! Bernal Heights’ accessibility extends far beyond its practical commuter conveniences. Warm and inviting, Bernal Heights’ bright Victorian homes, organic markets, and gay and inclusive bars and cafes enhance its welcoming atmosphere. Nestled between the peaks of San Francisco’s rolling hills, this casual and approachable neighborhood is a charming residential respite in the City by the Bay. Bernal Height was voted the hottest neighborhood in America recently. Here’s what folks are saying: “Bernal Heights has “It”. It has the small town feel while still being in San Francisco. You can feel as though you’re separated from the craziness of the city when you get home, yet are so close if you desire a night on the town.” There are so many restaurants (too many to count), coffee shops, and cool places to go within walking distance of the house. It’s also within waling distance of our major public transportation (BART & MUNI) and near one of the most amazing spots in the entire city-Bernal Hill. We LOVE our neighborhood. And know you will too. And we are near the dynamic and Historic Mission district and the very hip and happening Valencia Corridor.

Guest Access

You have private access to the entire 2nd-floor apartment, featuring 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. Enjoy a private roof deck with breathtaking, unobstructed views of the city.

I was delighted by this home and extended my stay to give myself more time to enjoy it. I’ve stayed in nearly eighty vacation rentals over the past fifteen years, and this is among the very best. Property condition, charm, decor, comfort, are all top-notch, and the hosts are very responsive and kind. Highly recommended.

I adore this house and we had such a wonderful stay! The views are incredible, the apartment is comfortable and well appointed, and the history of the house/neighborhood is fascinating (I definitely read the book about the history of the Bernal Heights neighborhood that the hosts keep in the apartment). I’d highly recommend this place to anyone who wants an authentic San Francisco stay!
