Good to know

Picture yourself waking up to the sound of birdsong, morning light filtering through a canopy of ancient redwoods just outside your window. This retro-modern cabin in Camp Meeker sits tucked into the forest on a private road, offering genuine stillness alongside every comfort you need for a restorative escape. Minutes from Occidental and Sebastopol, and a short drive from the Russian River, you're perfectly placed to explore the best of West Sonoma - without sacrificing the quiet.   Living space The upper floor opens into a bright, open-plan layout anchored by a spacious living room filled with curated mid-century modern décor. A dining area sits ready for shared meals or a marathon board game session, and the fully equipped kitchen - complete with vintage-inspired finishes - makes cooking here a pleasure rather than a chore. Step out onto the large deck and you have an outdoor living space framed entirely by trees, ideal for morning coffee or winding down with a glass of local wine as evening settles in.   Sleeping arrangements Downstairs, the primary bedroom features a plush bed and beautiful forest views, with a private en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom is warm and inviting, and the lower level also includes a third full bath. A separate den gives you a second living space for quiet reading or relaxed evenings, with its own deck access for fresh air whenever you want it.   Kitchen & dining The kitchen is fully stocked for everything from a quick breakfast to a proper dinner party. You'll find a refrigerator, freezer, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, hot water kettle, baking sheet, and a full set of dishes and silverware. Cooking basics - pots, pans, oil, salt and pepper - are all here. When the weather invites it, take the meal outside: a BBQ grill with barbecue utensils, an outdoor dining area, and outdoor furniture make al fresco evenings effortless.   Bathrooms Three full bathrooms across the property mean mornings are never rushed. Each is stocked with the essentials, and amenities include a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, bidet, and hot water throughout.   Work & staying connected Fast WiFi and a dedicated workspace mean remote work or a creative retreat are both well supported. Cell service can be inconsistent given the remote forest location, but the WiFi is strong throughout the cabin.   Location Camp Meeker sits at the heart of West Sonoma, with easy access to acclaimed wineries, breweries, scenic hiking and biking trails, and the Russian River. The small-town plazas of Occidental and Sebastopol are just minutes away, each with top-rated restaurants and local shops worth exploring. The surrounding redwood forest provides the kind of privacy that's genuinely hard to find - wildlife, birdsong, and starry skies included. Please note the property spans multiple levels with stairs, which may not suit guests with mobility concerns.   Important Notes Please be aware that the property spans multiple levels and includes stairs, which may not be suitable for guests with mobility concerns. Cell service can be spotty due to the remote location, although WiFi is strong throughout the cabin. Surrounded by wildlife and natural beauty, this home offers the rare combination of privacy, comfort, and proximity to some of the most beautiful scenery in Northern California. Please note: This property is not suitable for children. The space contains exposed electrical outlets, sharp-edged furniture, fragile décor, and unsecured items that may pose safety risks. There are also no childproof features such as safety gates or cabinet locks. For the well-being of all guests, we kindly ask that no children be brought onto the premises. Additionally, pets are not allowed.

Other Details to Note

TV Info: Heads up... There's NO TV here—just birdsong, tree views, and plenty of peace and quiet. Think of it as a screen-free escape (unless you count the stars). ::Power Outages:: This home is located in a beautiful, tree-filled area that can occasionally experience storm-related power outages, especially in winter. These events are controlled by the local utility company and are outside of the host’s control. While we will always do our best to assist and keep you updated during any outage, compensation is not guaranteed for utility disruptions. For peace of mind, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Stairs: The cabin has multiple levels, including stairs to the lower floor and decks. It may not be suitable for those with mobility concerns. WiFi & Cell Service: While we have high-speed WiFi, cell service may be spotty in some areas due to the remote location. Security Camera: Please note we do have a Ring camera by the front door for security purposes. Wildlife: You’re in nature! Expect to see (or hear) deer, birds, and other wildlife. Please do not leave food outside. Fireplace: though there is a fireplace shown in photos in the living room, it is currently not working. We appreciate your understanding and hope you enjoy the many other amenities the home has to offer. We prefer guests not to use the fire pit on the back deck, thank you for understanding. Pet-Friendly: 2 Well-behaved dogs are welcome! 🐾 We would like to ensure that all guests are safe so if you bring your dog, please be respectful and do not allow them on the furniture, pick up their waste from the yard/decks and anywhere in Sonoma county, do not leave them alone in the house without supervision. Due to allergies we do not allow cats or any other animal in the house, thank you for understanding. A small pet fee may apply. Families with Kids: We truly enjoy hosting families, but please be aware that our home isn’t a good fit for young children under 12. There are several high decks, lots of stairs, and the space hasn’t been child-proofed. Things like glass doors, sharp corners on furniture, small decorative items within reach, and a glass-walled shower (no bathtub) could pose safety concerns. The decks can also get slippery in wet weather. For peace of mind, we recommend our home for adults and older kids over 12 who can safely navigate the space. Seasons & Weather: The cabin is cozy year-round! In winter, snow chains or AWD/4WD may be required due to mountain roads. We want you to have an amazing stay—let us know if you have any questions! 🚗 Camp Meeker roads are narrow and may require careful maneuvering, especially if another car is approaching. Please drive slowly and carefully. 🎵 Amplified music is prohibited outdoors at all times. Sonoma County quiet hours are strictly enforced between 9pm-7am. Please be respectful of our neighbors. Most of all, enjoy Camp Meeker!

I am still daydreaming about this amazing property! I loved being tucked right into the woods and be immersed with the trees. Loved the decor and vibe of the whole home. Modern but still has a fun vintage vibe. Highly recommend!

The peacefulness and beauty of their home is fantastic. It has every amenity and little touch of luxury that makes it so memorable. Enormous deck only outmatched by the even more enormous redwoods. Huge windows to take in the views from every angle. Amazing kitchen. 3 very nice bathrooms. Some with heated floors and toilets with remotes. :) The drive in will be one of the most unique drives of your life but saddle up, it’s worth it! Thanks for sharing your home with us.

We had a great time in this tucked away serene spot. The house is a perfect blend of modern and mid century, with sweeping views of the redwoods. Although quiet and secluded, it was a short drive into town.

What a truly special place. The interior is filled with modern conveniences (radiant floors, rainfall shower heads, top notch kitchen) while also having this calm stillness that feels like it comes out of another, simpler, world. The experience of being surrounded by windows to the redwoods is hard to capture in photos. Adrienne and co-host Jen were friendly and responsive, including when I had a brain freeze moment and forgot how to turn on the fancy cooktop. Occidental is a very short drive away, and the location was surprisingly central to other areas we wanted to explore. I was able to slow down and do some deep, focused thinking here. This is definitely not a rough and tumble place for kids; this is where you come when you need respite from the noise of life. This was one of my favorite AirBnB experiences, and I can't wait to come back!

Find us

The streets are narrow, we recommend having your GPS marked and ON before getting off the freeway, to ensure you can connect to the address. Once you're in Camp Meeker there is very little cell service. If you are on a road in Camp Meeker and another car is coming the same way, one of you may have to back into a driveway to let the other go by.
