Good to know
Morning light spills through Victorian windows, catching the angles of diamond-pitched ceilings as the city below stirs to life. From your top-floor perch in Bernal Heights, the San Francisco skyline stretches out in one direction while a lush garden frames another. On crisp winter days - and San Francisco has plenty of those - this apartment earns its place as a true refuge, somewhere you can settle in deeply between exploring the city's neighborhoods. A home with history This 2-bedroom, 1-bath apartment occupies the entire second floor of one of Bernal Heights' oldest Victorian homes - a property cared for by the same family for generations and featured in San Francisco tour books. The character runs through every detail: original artwork, diamond-pitched ceilings, and a thoughtfully curated mix of Mid-Century Modern, antique, and vintage furnishings that give the space a warmth no new build could replicate. A private entrance means you arrive on your own terms, stepping straight into a home that feels genuinely lived-in and loved. Living space The living room is oriented around calm. Wide historic windows frame views of the city skyline and Bay Bridge - a panorama that deepens after sunset when San Francisco's lights begin to glow. Central heating and a portable heater keep things comfortable through the city's cooler months, so curling up with a book or settling in for a quiet evening indoors is always an option. Sleeping arrangements Two bedrooms are set up for restful nights. The first holds a Queen bed alongside a uniquely shaped walk-in closet, while the second offers a Full bed with additional storage nearby. Both rooms are dressed with 100% bamboo linen bed sheets, extra pillows, and blankets - everything you need to wake up refreshed. Kitchen & dining The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking at home, with a refrigerator, freezer, stove, oven, microwave, and all the cooking basics you'd expect. A Keurig coffee machine, hot water kettle, toaster, baking sheet, and wine glasses round out the setup for easy mornings and relaxed evenings in. Pull up a chair at the dining table for meals, or use it as a base for remote work - Wifi runs throughout, and a dedicated workspace is available in a shared indoor area with a surge protector. Bathroom The bathroom includes a bathtub, hair dryer, and a full set of Public Goods toiletries - shampoo, conditioner, and body soap - alongside cleaning products and hot water. Towels, hangers, and an iron are also on hand for the practicalities of a longer stay. Outdoor spaces Step outside onto the private patio or balcony for a breath of fresh air and city views, or spend time in the fully fenced backyard - a green, open space that offers a quieter pace even when the city hums nearby. Outdoor furniture is available for both spaces, making it easy to linger over a morning coffee or watch the afternoon light shift over the rooftops. Entertainment & extras Inside, an HDTV with Roku, a BOSE Bluetooth sound system, books, and reading material keep evenings easy. A yoga mat is available if you'd like to stretch out or unwind with a short practice. Free street parking is available nearby for guests arriving by car. Neighborhood Bernal Heights is one of San Francisco's most genuinely local neighborhoods - known for colorful Victorian homes, independent cafes, community-run spaces, and a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere that feels a world away from tourist-heavy corridors. Restaurants, parks, and public transit are all within walking distance, with quick access to the Mission District and Valencia Corridor. On clear winter days, Bernal Hill delivers one of the city's most rewarding views - a short walk from the front door and well worth the climb. This apartment suits couples, friends, or solo travelers looking for a base with real character - somewhere San Francisco's history and everyday life meet quietly at the top of the stairs.

Neighborhood
THE NEIGHBORHOOD Outdoor enthusiasts, indoor bookworms, and foodies rejoice! Bernal Heights’ accessibility extends far beyond its practical commuter conveniences. Warm and inviting, Bernal Heights’ bright Victorian homes, organic markets, and gay and inclusive bars and cafes enhance its welcoming atmosphere. Nestled between the peaks of San Francisco’s rolling hills, this casual and approachable neighborhood is a charming residential respite in the City by the Bay. Bernal Height was voted the hottest neighborhood in America recently. Here’s what folks are saying: “Bernal Heights has “It”. It has the small town feel while still being in San Francisco. You can feel as though you’re separated from the craziness of the city when you get home, yet are so close if you desire a night on the town.” There are so many restaurants (too many to count), coffee shops, and cool places to go within walking distance of the house. It’s also within waling distance of our major public transportation (BART & MUNI) and near one of the most amazing spots in the entire city-Bernal Hill. We LOVE our neighborhood. And know you will too. And we are near the dynamic and Historic Mission district and the very hip and happening Valencia Corridor.
