Good to know

Beneath the towering redwoods of Camp Meeker, this 1906 cabin offers a quiet retreat where time slows down and the forest sets the rhythm of your stay. Step away from the bustle of daily life and into a place where evenings are warmed by the glow of a stone fireplace and mornings begin with sunlight filtering through tall trees. With a blend of rustic character and modern comfort, this cabin is designed for those seeking relaxation, reconnection, and the simple pleasures of nature. Living Spaces Inside, the cabin’s historic charm is immediately apparent. Warm wood interiors, an open-beam ceiling, and slightly uneven floors tell the story of its past, while thoughtful details ensure comfort. The living room provides ample space to curl up with a book, gather for conversation, or enjoy a quiet evening by the fire. An antique stove adds to the atmosphere, serving as both a practical and character-rich feature. Kitchen and Dining Upstairs, the kitchen is equipped with cooking basics, a coffee maker, and all you need for simple meals at home. A breakfast nook offers the perfect spot for slow mornings with a cup of coffee or tea. The adjoining dining area invites long conversations and shared meals after a day spent exploring the surrounding trails and villages. Sleeping Arrangements With 2 bedrooms, 3 beds, and 1.5 baths, the cabin comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests. The bedrooms are cozy yet functional, with fresh linens and storage space provided. The main bathroom includes a bathtub for unwinding after a day outdoors, while an additional outdoor toilet and shower add a unique, adventurous touch. Outdoor Living The spacious deck extends the living space into the forest. Here, you can enjoy outdoor dining beneath the canopy of redwoods, sip evening wine surrounded by the sounds of nature, or simply stretch out with a good book in the dappled light. The property is private and fenced, with free off-street parking for up to 3 vehicles. For those visiting in the warmer months, the shaded setting keeps the air naturally cool, with fans available on hotter days. Please note: the hot tub is available starting in July. Comfort and Practicalities Guests have access to a washer and dryer on the back deck, making the cabin well-suited for longer stays. WiFi is available, reliable enough for streaming and email but not ideal for multiple video calls at once. As with many forest cabins, the experience includes a few quirks - occasional critters, pine needles, and the rustic personality of an older home. Safety is a priority, with smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, fire extinguishers, a first aid kit, and exterior security cameras on-site. The Setting Located in the small, quiet community of Camp Meeker, the cabin sits on a peaceful road with no thru traffic. Just a five-minute drive brings you to Occidental, a charming town with restaurants, shops, and access to hiking, kayaking, and horseback riding. The Bohemian Highway, one of Northern California’s most scenic drives, connects you to nearby villages and natural attractions. Perfect For This cabin is ideal for couples seeking a romantic escape, small families wanting to spend time outdoors, or solo travelers looking for solitude in the redwoods. It offers the balance of vintage character, natural beauty, and thoughtful amenities - a peaceful base from which to enjoy the best of Northern California’s forested landscapes.

Other Details to Note

This is a vintage cabin built in 1906, so you may notice a few quirks here and there—slightly uneven floors, cozy room sizes, and a charming (but old) stove that takes a little patience. We think it adds to the magic, but want you to be comfy and informed! There is no air conditioning. The cabin stays relatively cool thanks to the forest setting and shaded deck, but we provide fans for warmer days. We’re in the forest! Expect the occasional critter or pine needle—nature is part of the charm. We have regular pest control and do our best to keep everything tidy. WiFi is available, but due to the remote setting, speeds can vary. Great for streaming and email—maybe not ideal for multiple Zoom meetings. We love this little place and hope you will too. If you ever have questions before booking, feel free to reach out! Pets: We allow 1 dog under 50lbs or 2 under 30lbs but we would like to ensure that all guests are safe so if you bring your dog, please be respectful and do not allow them on the furniture, pick up their waste from the yard, do not leave them alone in the house without supervision. Due to our dog visiting the home and one of us having allergies, we do not allow cats or any other animal in the house, thank you for understanding. PLEASE NOTE: Host truck is parked inside the fence until late 2025 🚗 Camp Meeker roads are narrow and may require careful maneuvering, especially if another car is approaching. Please drive slowly and carefully. 🎵 Amplified music is prohibited outdoors at all times. Sonoma County quiet hours are strictly enforced between 9pm-7am. Please be respectful of our neighbors. Most of all, enjoy Camp Meeker!

We really enjoyed our stay at the house! It's so quaint and rustic, and the main room was perfect for gathering in the evenings after our days out exploring. One of our favorite parts was sitting on the front deck in the deck chairs, listening to the trees sway, it was incredibly relaxing. We also appreciated the yoga mats and the peaceful ring of trees with a bench, which was a wonderful spot for meditation to start the day. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to use the outdoor shower which we look forward to next time!

This was one of our favorite Airbnbs we've stayed at in Northern California. If you're looking for an ultra modern, cookie cutter space, this is not it. KT's 100+ year old cabin had the character and love that you'd expect out of a home nestled in the redwoods. Everything was clean, the kitchen was well stocked (thank you for having spices and other cooking essentials! Many Airbnbs take the leftovers that guests leave behind), and the home was cozy. The outdoor amenities were phenomenal. We used the hot tub multiple times, showered in the outdoor shower and, yes, perhaps used the outdoor toilet. Camp Meeker is quiet yet super close to Occidental - 5min up the road. We will absolutely love to visit again. Oh and it's dog friendly!

Excellent place to stay. Quiet and felt secluded. Well stocked kitchen. Would recommend to download offline maps on google prior as there is no mobile access in the area but relatively easy to find. Would stay again if I was in the area.
